Impact: Community is crucial to a fun and functional team environment. These team events help us bond with each other strengthening our Aragon Robotics community!
New Season Icebreakers
At the start of each new season, we invest time in doing icebreakers and name games to:

Biannual Potluck
In November and May of each year, we host a potluck at our shop. We invite all members, families, alumni, and members of our school community. Typically, the leads team presents briefly, then attendees have the chance to walk around and observe our Expo, where different sub-teams prepare materials to present what they have been working on. This is a great opportunity for the whole AR community to get together and see what we are working on each year. It also allows the new leads in May to present for the first time. |
Halloween Party
Halloween falls early in our season, so we take this holiday as an opportunity to have some fun as a team (typically right before our first FTC regional). We hold a pumpkin carving contest in small groups (themes have included gears, game elements, and images of our Captains), eat candy, and play Halloween-themed games. This is a fun team-bonding opportunity that is unlike normal robotics meetings. Newbies appreciate the time to get to know each other in a less formal context, and veterans love the break from engineering projects. |
